Quiz Night

There will be a Quiz Night on Saturday 15th October 2011  at 6:30pm.

Maximum of six people in a team.

Love in a Box

For those of you who contributed to Love-in-a-box, we will be doing a similar scheme this autumn. A shoe box of gifts for disadvantaged children. The boxes need to be brought into church by 16th October.  Our church organiser for this is Hilary Stone.

Love-in-a-box is run by the Mustard Seed Relief Missions.

Hymns & Flowers

Olwen will be happy to dedicate hymns or you can sponsor flowers on special occasions to remember loved ones or anniversaries. Please let Olwen know at least one month in advance.

Harvest Festival and Supper

If anyone can help to decorate the church for Harvest, it will be at 10:30am Saturday  1st October.

Harvest Supper will be at 6pm Saturday  1st October.  There will be musical performances by Vincent and Rachel, sketches by Alfie and her pals.  Please think about what you can contribute to the entertainment.

Harvest Family Service will be at 10am on Sunday 2nd October.

Christine and Henry Salt 50th Wedding Anniversary

Sunday 25th September 2011  12pm

Congratulations and many Blessings to Christine and Henry. To celebrate Christine and Henry’s 50th Wedding Anniversary, there will be a bring and share lunch in the church hall after the 10am service.

Children Society Boxes

The total collected this year for the Children’s  Society was  £385  which included gift aided donations. Thanks to everyone who had a box and gave so generously. Thanks to Doris Hughes for organising this. If you like to have a box in your home please see Doris.

Mukuru school in Nairobi, Kenya

For the past four years the congregation at St. Martin’s have generously supported the school in Mukuru. This year the nuns have asked if we can provide jumpers for the boys as it is at a high altitude and quite cold there. It costs £5 each and British Airways have agreed to transport them free of charge.  Thanks to Hilary Stone and the Charity Committee for organising this with BA. Thanks to your generous donations, we have a shipment of jumpers destined to the school.

Open House Weekend

Saturday 17th September 2011  (10-4pm)

Sunday 18th September 2011  (12-4pm)

There will be a display of the West Drayton district and St. Martin’s church’s history. A chance to visit the Church Tower and some light refreshment afterward.
